Officials of the City Council held a second meeting with stakeholders in the intervention of domestic violence to establish a protocol for action

Councilwoman Women and Equal Opportunities, Josefa María Sánchez, and the head of the Department of Social Welfare, Juan Carrion, have recently held the second meeting with the technical team of Specialized Care Center for Women Victims of Violence (CAVI ) de Alhama, in order to establish a referral protocol and coordination between parties involved in cases of gender violence.

The meeting also was attended by staff of Social Services and the Department of Women and Equal Opportunities.

This meeting was to establish a protocol for referral and to keep closer coordination with possible cases of domestic violence arising until CAVI is implanted in the town of Totana, as reported by the mayor, who announced that this service will offer care for women victims of violence in the town to avoid having to travel to the nearby town of Alhama.

This center, under the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia, to be located in Totana and Alhama Like, women attend to this problem will consist of three professionals, a social worker, a psychologist and a consultant legal entity, whose operations are conducted in the medium and long term both individually and in groups with women.

The objective of this specialized care center for women victims of violence is "to get women with this problem may face life independently, giving them social skills and psychological stability needed to overcome the consequences of abuse," said Josefa María Sánchez.

To this end, courses and workshops aimed at the female population to facilitate a meeting to enable them to create a strong social support network, as well as their full integration into the community.

For more information, and until it becomes operational CAVI Totana, Alhama Center will cover the area and will remain open in the morning on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 to 13:30, and in the afternoons, Tuesday and Wednesday from 16:00 to 18:30.
