The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and the municipal official of the Department of Development Cooperation and Immigration, Juan Carrion Tudela, have undertaken an institutional receive the Honorary Consul of Mexico in Murcia, Sebastian de la Peña Velasco, and representatives of the Association Mexican Cultural Center in Murcia, in order to analyze and assess the projects carried out towards the Consistory in this country and establish lines of cooperation and joint action.
The event was attended by the president of the Mexican Cultural Centre in Murcia, Marcelino Menéndez Ablanedo, members of the same, Ma Xitlalic Rodríguez Torres, Karla Eveling García Palacios, Alejandra Gonzalez Davila, Araceli Villa Echavarria, Thomas Raymundo Flores Bañuelos , and the representative of the Association in Totana, Manuel Ruiz Figueroa.
The municipal official of the Department of Development Cooperation and Immigration commended the work done by the association and expressed satisfaction at being able to maintain their first contact with this entity in the "Cultural Meeting" held in Murcia, where he had the "pleasure" know both the consul and the reality of Mexico.
During the ceremony, the mayor said the budget allocated by the City Council of Totana, in the field of development cooperation, which currently is around 0.53%, which demonstrates that "year after year takes a step towards the achievement of 0.7% as claimed. "
With regard to geographic area as much development assistance has been received from the City of Totana in the period 2003-2007, has been rural Atlangatepec (Tlaxcala) - Mexico, according to Martínez Andreo,
whose projects are intended to contribute "a little bit" of progress and improvement areas are labor integration, socio-community and equality of opportunity.

Also, the mayor expressed his satisfaction with the "identity of solidarity", which characterizes the town of Totana, in working with these types of projects that contribute to improving the quality of many people in need.
For its part, the Honorary Consul of Mexico in Murcia, and representatives of the association, thanked both the institutional reception the effort made by the Consistory in the province of Atlangatepec (Tlaxcala), one of the most needy of Mexico.
