The Department of the City of Totana Cemetery has, at present, a waiting list to purchase a cemetery, niche or grave in the Municipal Cemetery "Nuestra Señora del Carmen", according to the mayor of the branch, Victor Balsas.

The councilor explained that the intention of his department is "slowly" trying to go responding to existing demands and attributed to no economic resources and lack of space left in the cemetery for new construction the main reasons for this situation.

In any case, the municipal officers are already working on expanding the municipal cemetery, although the number of new buildings is yet to be determined.

Balsas indicates that is expected in the coming months and ten cemeteries up to forty new niches will be built, but as he says, "is an approximate number of still outstanding and determined".

The mayor has reviewed some of the actions he has done in his area of management since joining City government, and were spraying and pruning of trees and the construction of an access for the disabled toilets.

In addition, at this time we proceeded to the installation of an interim faucet in the new area of the cemetery at the request of users and is releasing a space at the bottom of the new area of the enclosure in order to adecentarlo and start new constructions "soon".

Another concern in this area of municipal management is that the service is deficient, ie, that tanks are built above the number sold, as is happening today.

In this regard, the council said that "obviously is not that this service benefits, but at least what is sought is to cover the costs, that is, cover the charges which the roof of investments that will be undertaking paid" .

He also cited the debt that the city owes the new gravedigger amounting to 20,000 euros and which is pending payable to the company that built the last 32 new graves in the amount of 47,250 euros.
