The Sports Council will begin on October 3 program "School Sports" for the school year 2015/2016, in collaboration with schools and sports clubs Totana, and the Directorate General of Youth and Sports of the Region Murcia.
The Councillor for Sports, Maria Isabel Molino, and the sport technician, Jesus Serrano, presented this project which aims to promote sports in schools and is aimed at the integral equation of the school.
The program is aimed at schoolchildren aged between 8 and 18 years in the sports Chess, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Handball, cross country, soccer, Playing athletics, Multisport, Orientation, Petanque, Table Tennis and Volleyball.
The program has a sports principles, but also training, educational and recreational, trying to instill in participants the principles of fair play, and values ​​such as companionship, the rejection of violence, healthy living practices and the integration of children and girls without discrimination of any kind.
And with it, it is to promote harmonious development of schoolchildren, achieving physical conditions and health;
and promote training that enables sport continued in later ages.
Registration for all activities undertaken by teachers and physical education teachers from different schools in the city until September 25 in primary education and until 2 October to secondary education.
Throughout the school year, the Sports Council convened the local phase of the "Championship Sports Promotion of the Region of Murcia" all these different sports, part of the Championship Sports Promotion of Murcia organized by the Directorate General Youth and Sports of the Region of Murcia.
Participation in this program is free, and also the highest ranked school in the different local stages will have the opportunity to participate in regional phases convened by the Autonomous Community.
It is intended for school children aged between 8 and 18 years, corresponding to the youngest categories (2006/07), juvenile (2004/05), child (2002/03), Cadet (2000/01) and youth (1998 / 99), both male and female form.
The sports competitions will take place Wednesday and Friday afternoons (team sports) and Saturday morning (individual sports).
Registration for all activities undertaken by teachers and physical education teachers from different schools of the town.
The Department will present trophies to the top three finishers in each category convened in different sports;
and the best may participate in the regional phase that calls the Directorate General of Sports in the Region of Murcia.

Finally, the Sports Council will organize this school year as usual the Day of Popular School Games and the Olympic Games in collaboration with schools, aimed at the second cycle of primary and junior secondary education, how usually have welcomed every year.
