Specialty Care Center for Women Victims of Domestic Violence (CAVI) Totana attended during the first half of this year 35 new cases of women over fifty interventions were counted, according to sources of the service provided in this municipality since 2008.
The countries of origin of these 35 new chaos are Bolivia (5), Ecuador (10), Spain (14), Argentina (1), Brazil (1) Colombia (1), Poland (1) and Romania (2);
and are women aged between 14 and 61 years respectively.
CAVI Under Guadalentín currently serving women from the towns of Totana, Aledo, Alhama and Librilla, since their territorial scope is expanded.
New this year CAVI has worked in the field of prevention from primary school to the implementation of the Plan of Equality and coeducation in the CEIP "Luis Perez Rueda" where third year students have participated in two quarterly meetings with educators and families, who have done with one session per quarter.
Totana City Council has been working through the Department of Women and Equality, gender violence from 2008 through the implementation of CAVI and creating Police Coordination Board which was created in 2014.
This commission is composed of technicians CAVI, Local Police, Civil Guard team Primary Care, area Social Care, Employment Bureau workers and the Department of Education, Youth and Employment;
who coordinate joint actions of assessment and contribution proposal to improve prevention, awareness and intervention against gender violence in Totana.
