The PP wants to clarify through this press release publicly that:
- Public intervention made by the president of our party at a press conference in the balance of the municipal elections on May 24 quoted wrongly convicted of a crime as accounting reach a final judgment the newly elected Socialist deputy and former mayor, Alfonso Martinez bathrooms, and Andrew Garcia, when should refer solely and only the first one who really did live this procedural situation.
- The president of the PP wants to apologize publicly to the socialist candidate Andres Garcia and the PSOE for this mistake he had during his speech, in which he had to refer to this situation only the current Socialist deputy Alfonso Martinez Bathrooms and convicted of this crime.
- Bathrooms Martinez was convicted in 2007 for his performance in the legislature from 1991 to 1995 as Councillor for Sports and Urbanism and spokesman of the Socialist Group, to consider the Court of Auditors that there was scope accountant in a bank account in which it was authorized to dispose Alfonso Martínez Baños and was not subject to supervision by the City.
- Following a complaint the Court of Auditors, in the first instance Alfonso Martínez Baños was ordered to pay 7,040 euros and in solidarity with the then socialist mayor, Pedro Sanchez Hernandez, to pay 12,014 euros for the management of public funds unaccounted for .
- After appealing the judgment, the Court of Auditors has reiterated its condemnation Martinez Baths, and although partially upheld some appeals is condemned to return to the City 13,054 euros, together with default interest amounting to 19,000 euros.
- However Andrés García was no councilor during this period.
From the PP of Totana publicly we reiterate our apologies for this lapse that will transfer personally.
- Anyway from PP we remember that not everything is political and from the PSOE made serious accusations without foundation from which nobody ever apologizes, so we show that we are not all equal.
