The Association for Rare Diseases D'Genes, in collaboration with the Association for the Integration of Persons with Intellectual Disability and INTEGRA Totana Totana Town Council, have enabled the first edition of the training course and volunteering is promoted on Therapy methodology of Friendship, an innovative project that aims to create a network of friendship between people affected by a rare disease, disability, developmental disorders, undiagnosed people and volunteers.
The course will be held in two sessions, the first of which, held on 20 May, attended by 8 volunteers of the project.
The second session will take place on May 27 and in it the presence of 9 volunteers more people are expected.
They will receive a certificate of participation for having taken this course.
The content that has worked on this first training course and volunteering in Friendship Therapy is structured into two blocks.
The first, whose rapporteur was the president of D'Genes, Juan Carrion, referred to the theoretical framework therapy friendship and context in which it develops, disability, since this project aims to promote and strengthen networks friendship in people affected by a rare disease, disability, developmental disorders and who were not diagnosed with the collaboration of the volunteer team.
In the second block, given by the social worker Gissela Nataly Manotoa Albarracín, it has addressed the methodology of this project and spoke about the responsibilities of the technicians responsible for each age group and monitors voluntary "friends" project .
In addition, it has stressed the advantages you have when you volunteer for this project and the commitment of the entity for volunteering it.
The course ended with the signing of the voluntary commitment by the participants, who have been enthusiastic and excited to get started with this new initiative.
These volunteers come from Totana, Lorca, Cartagena and Murcia.
Friendship therapy contemplated establish meeting places where social interaction activities of direct and indirect contact is made through social networks and electronically, in addition to leisure activities inclusive.
The first meeting point will take place on 30 May.
