The Popular Party of Totana has filed a motion for the full September in urging the Government of Spain and the European Commission it to products like melon, watermelon, broccoli, grapes, lettuce and citrus are included in the list of products eligible for aid from the European Union, in order to offset the negative effects of the veto imposed by Russia on imports from the EU.

In the same motion is requested to weekly monitoring is done to determine the evolution of the measures taken by the EU, consumption data, prices and volumes, and also to be carried out detailed monitoring of how it is affecting the 'Russian crisis' the fruit and vegetable sector, articulating block measures, serious, hard and fast before the situation created by the 'Russian veto' agricultural products.

The proposal requests that are made available to the affected countries sufficient economic performances starting to use it to support the products concerned;

EU regulations and aid to the products concerned, in effect while the tax veto by Russia to keep our exports.

The motion of PP includes asking the Government of Spain to carry out a campaign of promotion and dissemination, to encourage domestic consumption of fruits and vegetables.

The main agricultural producers depend Murcia in a high percentage of foreign markets.

The ban imposed by the Russian Federation to the EU exports is seriously harming producers of fruit and vegetables from all over the country and especially to our region for its heavy reliance on the sales of their products abroad, Russia remains one of the recipient countries.

Based on knowledge, Spain, in the year 2013 Russia exported 290,684 tons, representing 1'99% of total exports, but it is also necessary to note that many European operators in countries such as Poland, Germany, Netherlands and France, re-shipped large quantities of fruits and vegetables from Murcia to the Russian market.

Overall, the impact suffered by the agricultural products in the EU is estimated at 5.252 million euros, 338 million in the case of Spain.

Major products of our region such as lettuce, broccoli, grapes, melon, watermelon, tomato and citrus, among others, have been left off the first list that the EU has agreed to support 125 million euros.

In the case of our town, important products for our agriculture and our rural economy, as table grapes are having a devastating impact on this season as a result of this "veto", since over 80 percent of the product is sold to the Russian nation.

The situation, every passing day it becomes more untenable.

Our farmers fear the effects of this "Russian veto" are even more devastating, as they are unpredictable, since no one knows what is going to take this situation of "political crisis" between Russia and the EU, so it is urgent that you act quickly, effectively and with concreteness because our farmers can not afford the duck and our food products can not be a bargaining chip to a "political crisis" like this.
