Six Saharawi children participate this summer in the program "for holiday" in the town of Totana that promotes the Friends of the Saharawi people, hosted by four families of this town;
and they were received today by the local authorities.
The mayor, Isabel Maria Sanchez, and Councilwoman Attention Marķa Josefa Sanchez, conducted an institutional desk for Sahrawi children and foster families totaneras, who appreciated their commitment and their work recognized with these, in terms of programming recreational activities for leisure time, food and medical examinations.
Some of these children are repeaters from previous years in the families of Totana, which shows great success and well-being of these families by.
The children arrived last July 2 in Totana and remain until next September 3.
The "Holidays in Peace" project consists in welcoming Saharawi children from families living in Spain during the summer months.
Every year hundreds of Saharawi children between 8 and 12 years spend the summer with Spanish host families.
The project objective is precisely to give these children a break from the harsh conditions of life as you are, but it is also a way of showing solidarity with the Saharawi people and raise awareness among Spanish families from their sociopolitical reality .
