Councilman Industry Council of Totana, Felix Cayuela, explained that the industrial park "The Salt Marsh" has established itself as one of the business areas and most important services of the Region of Murcia for two main reasons: its location next to the A-7 Mediterranean with direct access from the same and seamless integration between the group of companies of different sectors of activity and space powerful and full service (also for the road) which has two hotels totaling more 150 rooms, meeting rooms, conferences and celebrations and other complementary services, an extensive leisure area service gas station, parking, restaurants, cafes, etc.., all integrated into manicured gardens and with excellent urban endowments.
With the launch of the draft referred, as manifested by local groups in its proposal, less than 2 km from the industrial area of Totana jeopardized much of both of the companies in this business as core job and this one of the few business areas in the region that, despite the difficulties they are going through their business as a result of the current economic crisis, remains alive and is moving forward stoically.

In addition, the motion is stated that the development of the new draft Service Area would be a major impact on the Special Protection Area (SPA) that constitute the already shrinking Saladares Guadalentin and surrounding areas of central Region Murcia that a modern society can not afford it, especially when it is a necessary project, promoted by the Public Administration a few 2,000 meters in an area of consolidated services which hardly surpass.
These in addition to being designated as protected areas SPAs are sites of Community Importance (SCI), Commission Decision of 19 July 2006, by adopting, pursuant to Council Directive 92/43/EEC, the list of sites of Community importance for the Mediterranean biogeographical region, this Directive which envisages the creation of a coherent European ecological network of Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) called NATURA 2000, which SPAs are also integrated.
