Twenty children and youth last Friday Totana participated in different workshops all relating to the equestrian world, an activity that took place at the Equestrian Center "Cavalli Foundation" located in the La Costera de Alhama de Murcia in collaboration between the entity and the totanero Consistory.
This activity has been offered within the program "Totana Summer 2014" organized between the Department of Youth and Citizenship of the City of Totana, in collaboration with various associations and organizations working in the educational, cultural, sports and leisure field.
Throughout the morning the participants enjoyed a big way with the various planned activities that consisted basically of the following: agility;
that is to bring the horse branch, dismounted, performing a series of exercises that facilitate coordination and help us create a trusting relationship with horses;
preparation and equipment before mounting the horse;
learning to ride horse and take the reins and maintain a good position on the horse;
and brushed through which a bond of trust as well as being very important to their grooming and hygiene is generated.
In addition, participants performed practical observation of the herd, through which attempts to distinguish the roles of the leader and the nurse mare;
food, what they eat and what is not good for horses, what time, etc.;
tumbling, gymnastic exercises are on a drum that simulates a horse to win pre-riding confidence and work on balance and coordination, among others.
