The carving, dating from the first third of the nineteenth century, has been operated by the Center for Restoration of the Region of Murcia

The Director General of Cultural Assets, Francisco Gimenez, today presented to the President of the Guild of St. Mary Cleofé and Crown of Thorns, Casimiro Stephen, of St. Mary Cleofé restored image, a polychrome wood carving dated to the first third of the century XIX and attributed to Santiago Baglietto.

The image, which was operated by the Center for Restoration of the Region of Murcia, had damage to the system as cracks and detachments of strata given their processional use.

Prior to the intervention, a radiographic study of the size, followed by an endoscopic examination It is observed inside the structure was performed.

The intervention focused on strengthening the basis of size, and for that stitching of the different elements with wooden dowels are made and reinforced base to give more stability to the assembly.
