The Department of Social Services, through the Municipal Drug Addiction Service has begun to impart drug prevention workshops in 6 of primary schools in the municipality.
Through these workshops is to raise awareness among young people from the harmful effects of alcohol and snuff, as these are the gateway to the use of other drugs.
Through experiments, videos and other interactive activities, children learn coping skills and are sensitized about the harmful effects of these drugs.
