The Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, along with the Security council, Francisco Hernandez, received the Lieutenant General of the Army and head of the EMU, César Wall, and the government delegate in Murcia, Joaquin Bascuñana who have visited the base camp Military Emergency Unit at the Ciudad Deportiva "Valverde Queen".
During the working visit the mayor thanked the Lieutenant General's commitment to the EMU by installing their base camp in Totana, as the town these days is projected as a leader in the region for coordinating all local emergency services, regional and national.
The political and military leaders approached the battalion to know how they are developing the work to get an approximation as possible to a real scenario for a possible emergence of large scale wildfire.
In military exercise work of the EMU, and the Emergency Department, firefighters Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue Region of Murcia (CEIS), technical, environmental and forest brigades agents of the Directorate General for the Environment , helicopter, Advanced Command Post and experts from the Directorate General of Public Safety and Emergency, Red Cross, Health Emergency Management Murciano Health Service (061), Civil Protection services and local police of the municipalities of Totana, Alhama de Murcia, Mula and Pliego, and the Guardia Civil.
