The Ministry of the Presidency, through the Directorate General of the European Union Foreign Totana carries information campaign 'I, European citizen', which will spread the importance of European citizenship and fundamental rights enjoyed by their more than 500 million citizens.

The Director General, Carmen Sandoval, and the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, presented today to the students and faculty of the Institute of Higher Secondary Education Prado activities to be performed today and tomorrow in the town as part of that campaign , which coincides with the European Year of Citizens.

Sandoval said that "the status of European citizen opens a plural space in which to enjoy the exercise of the rights of entry and exit, free movement, stay, residence, permanent residence and work. All this adds up to a full freedom and mobility for all member states of the European Union ".

In that spirit to promote mobility of citizens and, especially, the youth, as a right of European citizenship, the activities are designed to be developed in Totana, including, lectures, workshops and the projection of videos about the EU, its institutions and its policies closer to citizens.

Also, be informed of the rights that European citizens and the best way to enjoy them, through programs such as 'Youth in Action', which aims to develop and support European cooperation in the field of promoting youth youth participation in public life, particularly for the most disadvantaged and people with disabilities and their initiative, enterprise and creativity.

More than 200 children visit the 'mobile classroom' regional government to expand their knowledge about the European Union, European policies, its institutions and the exercise of the rights recognized in the Statute of the European Union.

This vehicle will visit San Jose schools, Deitania, La Milagrosa, Tierno Galvan, Reina Sofía, the Garden Tierno Galván and Sociocultural Center Jail Totana.

Also, inside the mobile classroom, interested parties may see a mural that explains the different projects funded by the European Union municipalities in the region of Murcia and further information on the Europe Direct network and Europe Direct Office Region of Murcia.
