This year has seen a transition in adapting Occupational Service Day Centre, with the expansion of services, programs and health

The mayor, Isabel Maria Sanchez, and the councilman of Social Care, Josefa Maria Sanchez, today visited the Day Centre "José Moya Trilla" in order to attend, along with parents, professionals and users, the official closing during 2011/12 in the delivery infrastructure and see how the different services.

The authorities have known firsthand the work done in the different services provided in the center and have found, in the hand of the director, Jose Antonio Romera, and different monitors, the work that the 32 users perform in different carpentry workshops, arts, physical activity and sports, computer room and the new services of speech therapy and physiotherapy.

Since February last year, to July Occupational Center project has experienced a transition process that has involved a process of adaptation of the previous context of the current Occupational Centre Day Centre

This has allowed the incorporation of new staff, as a psychologist, physiotherapist, speech therapist, social worker, passenger transport and support staff in the kitchen and dining room, fully funded by the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS).

This conversion has been permitted to offer a greater quantity and variety of performances and programs for users of the center, as the Hall of care for dependents, multisensory stimulation, physiotherapy and rehabilitation and maintenance of language expression and articulation.

In addition, users performed tasks Knowledge of the community (visits to the library, supermarket and beauty shop, etc.), occupational activity and plastic carpentry, IT and new technologies (pulse of the blog) and physical activity and sport.

As reported by the center's director, has also increased by 10% the number of days of care, from 200 to 222 days a year to open the center a year, and, therefore, has increased the number of hours attention, from 1,500 to 1,650 hours.

It was further recalled that, at present, the service is financed almost entirely with contributions from the State and the Autonomous Community, as well as co-payment contributions made by users, so that virtually no cost one for the council.

City officials have repeatedly stated that in this turbulent period of many economic adjustments and cuts through the existing budgetary constraints, the City will prioritize and that means continue to invest in social policies and services that are rendered in that complex care infrastructures .

They also congratulated and thanked the efforts being made by professionals and will continue betting on the support services that enable people with disabilities and their families to improve their quality and living conditions.
