During the last two training activities were developed with the students of Project WORK: a step towards employability, Totana developed by the Collective for Social Promotion "The Candle", to be trained in matters of "Kitchen Assistant" and "Gardening ".
These business activities, are part of the training activities developed by the project "WORK: A step towards employability" project that is operating in Totana since November 2007, in collaboration with the City of Totana and funded in a 20% of the Murcian Institute of Social and 80% by the European Social Fund.
Through this project is to inform, educate and guide the unemployed on issues related to the workplace.
It is an initiative of such socio-labor, by which it seeks to facilitate the employment of those who are interested in actively participating in changing the situation of unemployment.
Courses in Garden & Kitchen Assistant have lasted 30 hours and 8 students have participated.
This training has been made possible by the invaluable assistance provided by the Hon.
Totana City Council through the Department of Facility Management Services and the City, as well as Restoration Azor, who have allowed students to learn in a practical and actual performance of a trade.
The contents of the Kitchen Assistant training were as follows:
Elaborations pre-cooking
Actual practices in the kitchen
Basic techniques of food handling
Practical organization to function in a kitchen faster.
The contents of the Garden training were:
Planting, seeding and transplanting of vegetables
Design and installation of gardens.
Cleaning of gardens
Using tools and garden machinery
Pruning.
Maintenance and care of plants and gardens
Identification of plant species.
