Totana City Council is conducting an energy audit of street lighting to achieve environmental benefits, energy and reduce the economic cost of light consumed.

Councilwoman Comprehensive Maintenance of the City, Maria Jose Bedia, has indicated that this audit, conducted by the consulting firm SL Light, has begun hearing the need to rationalize energy consumption of outdoor lighting and the achievement of improved in energy management with consequent environmental and economic benefits and energy.

Bedia explained that all week this company technicians are conducting field work on the lampposts to analyze all parameters through a specialized apparatus, so moved the public not to worry if they see street lights on intermittently between the hours of sun as it is necessary to make this work this way.

The mayor recalled that already taken cost containment measures light through a plan of adjustment that was made by analyzing the needs of areas, roads and citizens, but they needed a real and efficient study.

Furthermore, explained that this collaboration agreement, approved by the Local Government Board, has no cost to the City Council.

In summary, Beida has indicated that this action will bring benefits to account for energy savings, reduction of CO ² emissions, reducing the electricity bill for public lighting outside, and advice in the preparation of a strategy leading to the municipality to excellence in energy efficient public lighting outside.
