The Local Government Board has approved a cooperation agreement with the Department of Education Training and Employment for the continuation of the Hall Occupational Prevention and Control of Truancy in 2012 for an amount close to 77,000 euros.

The Councillor for Education, Maria Josefa Sanchez Mendez, explained that the new signing of this agreement by the success of the results obtained through the intervention of both absentee students with families as participants in the classroom during the school years Occupational .

In this sense, the mayor has indicated that the City Council as the autonomous region has been considered necessary to continue the planning and development of compensatory education extraordinary measures, such as the Occupational Classroom, designed to prevent or mitigate the problem of absenteeism and drop may lead to situations of social risk.

Also pointed out that the Occupational Classroom is a "classroom" link which is essential to reinstate the education system to students absentee practically deserted the education system or who are at risk of dropping out, providing educational guidance, counseling and advice to educational alternatives, such as the Initial Vocational Training Program.
