The events of Holy Week began last night with the presentation of the poster, magazine and the appointment of the Nazarene in 2012 to Francisco Munoz Honor Costa in a ceremony involving dozens of people and political authorities, civil and ecclesiastical.
The event, held in the church of Santiago el Mayor, and was organized as usual by the Illustrious Cabildo Superior Totana processions, attended the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez Ruiz, councilors Corporation Hall, priests, and many representatives of Fraternities and Brotherhoods of the municipality.
The poster, which was presented to the public after the completion of the act of imposition of ashes, this year is illustrated by the Brotherhood of Denial and the Exaltation of the Cross.
During the emotional ceremony, the Distinguished Senior council also presented Totana processions of Holy Week magazine this year 2012, which involved writers, brothers and residents of the municipality showing the greatness of the acts and processions of this deeply rooted tradition .
Totana Mayor said that this year is very special to the Nazareth family and all people who love Easter because it has achieved the recognition of Regional Interest Party.
This, as stated by the municipal councilor, is a legitimate cause for great satisfaction for Easter after a long journey authority to which for years have helped thousands of people.
Official ceremony on Sunday February 26
On Sunday February 26 at 13:00 will take place the official ceremony of awarding the title of Regional Tourist Interest to Totana Easter, at the monument to the Nazarene, in the square Balsa Vieja.
The event will be attended by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Pedro Alberto Cruz, and the Director General of Tourism, Enrique Ujaldón, who along with Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez will hand the scroll of honor President of the Illustrious Cabildo, Juan Maria Zamarreño, representing the 17 fraternities totanera Easter.
Similarly, we will proceed to the discovery of a commemorative plaque placed near the monument to the Nazarene Easter Totana.
