The Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, Juan Tudela congratulated legs, known as "Uncle John Rita" in his family home in Animas Street in this city on his birthday to celebrate one hundred today, and has made delivery of parchment which gives the neighbors the Consistory centenarians living in this county.
The visit was organized within those promoted by the City for years, in collaboration with the association "Salus Infirmorum" Totana people over and those celebrating special anniversaries, such as the Uncle John Rita.
The same was also attended by Councillor Popular Culture, Alfonso Cayuela.
Totana City last Saturday and paid tribute to John Tudela institution by the opening of a square that bears his name Triptolemos area, between Avenue de Mazarron and Cartagena street of this city.
The event came to give effect to the Plenum of January this year that was agreed unanimously to hold this recognition to this neighbor who resides more than 70 years in Totana and nominate a public space of the town of Totana for its centennial and its contribution to the promotion of regional and local folklore.
"Uncle John Rita," as it is known in the local and regional cultural sphere is a man of enviable artistic and human, closely linked to the town of Totana, where lived for many years.
Born in Aledo a February 14, 1912, but the vicissitudes of life he was transferred with his mother and brother to Zuniga, in the town of Lorca, which was natural and lived until she married.
The Consistory totanero appointed as "Uncle John Rita" in February 2010, the title of Adopted Son, as stated in the rules of Protocol and Ceremonial totanero Consistory, in a ceremony held at the Center Sociocultural Jail.
