About a dozen hikers went into the heart of Sierra Espuña in the last route organized last January 29 by the Sports Department.

On this occasion, undertook the ascent to the peak of Turullón (794 meters) with a distance of 15.5 kilometers.

The output was from the village of Turkeys (234 meters) to two kilometers from the nearby town of Alhama de Murcia.

The first leg of the route ran along the Rambla de los Molinos to enter the Espuña Regional Park, passing by the famous Cuesta del Toro, near the head Salaoso.

Once in the Tajo-Segura began a steep climb up the path commonly known as "Rompebicis" to connect to the path of the Breasts spout and then with the water route.

On the path of the fast pipe completed the first major climb to reach the raft Espuña pipe (604 meters) where they proceeded to take a well deserved lunch.

The route continues through the pipe to the place of the Cross where we conducted a small decrease to a path that would lead to the top of this route.

At the booth of Turullón guide, Javier Ramirez, took the opportunity to make a brief explanation of the landscape, which this time was spectacular thanks to the air that raised half a day, revealing the mountains of Alicante and the coast of Mazarron .

The final leg was by forest road access to the checkpoint and the fast path.

To give a touch of adventure, we conducted a rapid descent down a steep firewall that was a challenge for hikers.

From the firewall, next to the river bed of the ravine Espuña, only remained to get to Casa Leyva, place the end of the route.

The next activity of the hiking program will be held on February 12 in Cartagena to visit the Azohía, Cala Aguilar and Campillo de Adentro.

Registration takes place at the municipal hall Manolo Ibañez Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 14.00 pm and Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 16.00 to 18.30.
