Totana Township celebrated on December 3 the delivery of the second edition of the National Awards 2011 powered Ceramics Spanish Cities Association of Ceramics (AECC).
This important event, which will bring together the 30 municipalities that make up the body, has been presented by the Mayor of Totana and current president of the Spanish Association of Cities of Ceramics, Isabel Maria Sanchez Ruiz, and the Minister of Universities, Enterprise and Innovation in the Region of Murcia, Jose Ballesta.
Sanchez Ruiz explained that during the gala dinner to be held next Saturday, December 3 at 20:30 am at the Hotel Monasterio Santa Eulalia will receive their awards this year to the four categories: the career in ceramic production, activity or initiative for ceramics, to the dissemination and communication activities for ceramics, and technical or scientific contribution.
In this edition, a total of twelve companies and organizations presented awards in Spain to those who choose the four categories.
The jury, composed of experts in the world of ceramics Totana will meet in the day before the awards to rule over them.
Specifically, the jury members are: the senses of the AECC and Totana Mayor, Isabel Maria Sanchez Ruiz, the mayor of Agost (Alicante) member of the AECC, Juanjo Castello Molina, the president of the Cultural Asocciación Galerenca The Cadub, Joan Pegueroles, the director of the National Magazine Award Pottery & Ceramics 2010, Antonio Vivas, and the director of the National Ceramic Museum Valencia, Jaume Coll.
The dinner gala will have invited representatives of major associations of artisans from the region of Murcia, as well as local potters totanera to know first hand the important role being undertaken by the national association and internationally.

He also assured that "the ceramics industry has been innovative, has managed to blend tradition with modernity and with the support of Handcrafts Technology Center, also located in Totana".
