About 50 people participated last Sunday, day 16, the hiking trail organized by the Department of Sport Totana by the Sierra de La Muela and Portus beach, west of the town of Cartagena, whose tour was guided and designed by Joseph Garcia Huéscar, and in which the participants used a total of four hours to travel 12 kilometers, with a drop of just over 500 meters.
The route was circular and made by forest tracks and mountain trails through pines and Mediterranean scrub.
From the summit of La Muela, participants could enjoy the beautiful views of the Campo de Cartagena, the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean coast, between Cape Tiñoso and the port of tailings, respectively.
The march discoursed without incident, except for some stretches that had a steep slope, for which there was a need to make frequent stops for the regrouping of the participants.
These, being conducted by the Department for years, are held two Sundays of each month, designed so they can be made by people without a special level of fitness, although it is advisable that those who enroll have the habit of walking and navigate mountain trails.
According to sources in the Department is looking for natural areas of the Autonomous Community of Murcia or nearby nen it, try to always be back between 14:00 and 15:00 hours.
The price is 8 euros, and there is a booklet with all the hiking trails planned for the month of January in all the municipal sports facilities that discharge into the municipal website.
