More than thirty local police officers from 16 canine units throughout Spain participate from today until next Friday, day 21, in the I Interpolicial Guide Dogs of the Region of Murcia which is held in the offices of the Local Police Headquarters and whose exhibitions take place at the municipal football stadium "Juan Cayuela".

The meeting, which is funded entirely through the sponsorship of 45 companies in this town, was opened today by the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, Councillor of Public Safety and Emergency, Francisco Hernandez, and the local police officer, Alfonso Canales.

The program includes today as well, holding the IV Course Guide Drug Detector Dog, which is organized by the Canine Unit Totana Local Police, whose members are delegated members in the region of the Spanish Association of Guides Local Police Canine.

In the training sessions involving agents assigned to the police canine units Gijón, Alicante, Burgos, Móstoles, Ceuta, Toledo, Villanueva del Fresno (Badajoz), Las Rozas (Madrid), Orgaz (Toledo), Alcorcón (Madrid), Rivas- Vaciamadrid (Madrid) and Villarreal (Castellón) and the Murcian town of Mula, La Union and Totana, respectively.

The Police Canine Unit Local Totana (K-9) currently has two dogs: one in training, and other commonly found serving in that unit, Weimaraner Pointing Dog breed, and name Bao Dai, both participate in the exhibition.

The Canine Unit Totana pioneered the Murcia Region and promoted by the previous mayor, José Martínez Andreo, to promote the fight against drug trafficking in Totana municpio and prevention in schools.
