The councilman of Social Care, Josefa María Sánchez, President of the Association of Families and People with Alzheimer's "The Carrasca of the Holy", Dolores López Valenzuela, and treasurer, Juana Sanchez, and member of the Association, Rosario Leon, presented the activities organized for the "VII Encuentro Solidarity of Friends and People with Alzheimer's" to be held on 3, 4, 5, 7 and 9 October.
These activities coincide with the celebration of World Alzheimer's Day are aimed at raising awareness of the disease and disseminate information, and request the support and solidarity of citizens are not affected, enhancing thus volunteering.
The councilman of Social Care has congratulated the association responsible for the work done by the entity, as they offer much help to the families who care for patients who are going through this disease so hard.
Sanchez Mendez has advocated joining forces with health authorities and government to continue working to improve the quality of life of these people.
The mayor explained that the City can not directly subsidize any activity, but are made available to the association all logistical and material resources needed for the realization of this conference.
The activities will start on Monday 3 October at 16:00 hours with the conclusion of a bingo in the Day Centre for People and Tuesday will be held October 4 totanero the traditional lunch at 11:00 am on the same site .
At 19:00 am on Wednesday, October 5 will hold a General Meeting of Members at the Centre for Citizen Participation, and then will be a conference "Meeting for psychological and emotional support for families of Alzheimer patients," which will be given by Maria Angeles Garrigós psychologist Stephen.
The activities will continue on Friday, October 7 at 19:30 hours with the assessment and counseling programs for home support to family members of Alzheimer's, which will be borne by psychologist and coordinator of the SEDA, Susi Andreo Olmos, the therapist Natalia Latorre Vidal Noelia and nurse in the Socio-Cultural Center "Jail."
Then will begin a musical enlivened by the group "Friends of the Habanera," Socio-Cultural Center "Jail."
On Sunday October 9 will be held at a noon Mass at the Shrine of the Holy to be sung by the group "Friends of La Habanera."
