The Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, accompanied by the new Councillor for Trade, Francisco Hernandez, met yesterday with traders Totana to collect their needs and make a presentation that exposed the claims of the municipal government to encourage this productive sector in the municipality.

He also said that one of the main objectives of the City of Totana in economic matters is to promote and stimulate the recovery of the retail business is in decline before the proliferation of superstores or the existing economic crisis itself.
Sanchez said that progressive implementation of the plan will stimulate the retail business, with the help of professionals in neighborhoods and districts where the highest concentration of shops and catering businesses, through the enhancement of the peculiarities of these areas and its range of shops and services.
Municipal officials also reported to be working on increasing surveillance in commercial areas not only in campaign season shopping and, above all, protect local businesses against unfair competition from unlicensed premises .
Also discussed the need to support activities such as the Fair Outlet throughout the year to serve as a tourist attraction and promote awareness campaigns to make purchases in Totana.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Totana Merchants Association and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of this town, as well as independent business owners.
