Totana held for the first time in its history, and within the program of the festivities of "Santiago 2011", "Feasts of the mud" in which will be released in an original craftsmanship and traditional potters of the municipality which will have professional associations of craftsmen and potters.
The first activity will take place Friday July 22 from 20:00 in the Rambla de La Santa and consist of a "carling", a friendly "war of clay ', in which participants will have the opportunity to play , dance and indulge in this event in the mud becomes the main source of fun.
Also on Saturday, July 23 from 9:00 pm in Constitution Square, all attendees will enjoy activities designed by artisans known manual work with ceramics.

These activities have been submitted by the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, the council of Celebration, Alfonso Cayuela, and presidents of associations of potters Maria Jose Canovas Association and Crafts Pottery totanera, and Rosa María Sáiz of Association of Artisans of Totana (Asarta).
The Mayor of Totana explained that this initiative of the parties of the mud has been launched, set in one of the Tourism Strategic Plan, to publicize the essence of the work of ceramist and power, so their knowledge and marketing.
To this end, emulating the traditional "Tomatina" Buñol is going to come out this festival in which participants were smeared and enjoy the properties of clay.
Sanchez explained that Totana is the only factory of clay "Debarre" that exists within a radius of 700 kilometers and this product should make it known to the society to begin to be aware of the work being done in developing a handmade piece from its raw material to market.
Thus, Ruiz Sanchez thanked the associations potters invaluable assistance in the development of these first parties of the mud through which they try to live from within, "feeling, experiencing and enjoying" the clay, crafts and Totana.
