The socialist candidate for mayor of Totana has appeared at a press conference to explain some drastic measures to implement plans to promote job creation among youth and among the hardest hit by the crisis.
Juan Fco Otálora said today that given the grave situation many young people who are suffering and many families of Totana, job creation is the primary objective that arises if elected mayor in the upcoming elections.
"It is untenable that the unemployment rate in our town is about 30%."
It is stated as a goal the creation of 1,000 new jobs during the next legislature to reduce by half the current unemployment rate of Totana.
Otálora raised as a measure of immediate impact, creating a hundred annual scholarships for young graduates can be hired by local companies, or out of Totana.
So the contractors would be subsidized with 5,000 and 2,000 € respectively.
The socialist candidate has also said that reviving the construction sector, through the adoption of General Plan in the village, is another of the emergency measures which will be launched before year end, as each home built net 2.5 create jobs is working.
Another measure proposed has been facilitating industrial land to any company you want to install in Totana and create employment, with deferred payment for 10 years at 0% interest and three year grace period.
Similarly explained the urgency to establish a Local Employment Bureau where the business associations, trade unions, neighborhood associations and political parties can contribute ideas and promote initiatives and discuss proposals for job creation.
Finally, Otálora stated to be a fundamental criterion for the next team of government, the priority of business and Totana workers when hiring any work and / or service that is raised by the City Council.
