More than 40 people have begun training in literacy workshop held in social housing in the municipality of the hand of the Collective for Social Promotion "The Candle" as part of the project "Gelem-Gelem."
This action, supported by the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS), in collaboration with the town of Totana, aims to enable a meeting place where participants provide education and training an attractive alternative and complementary to traditional education and formal.
In addition it aims to promote attitudes of mutual respect among their neighbors and to the environment in which they live and where they can improve the physical conditions of sanitation of their dwellings and common areas as well as learning a trade through workshops Painting and Power.
The first of the scheduled workshops, workshop "Literacy", is being developed from the February 2 and it comprised 48 people registered.
This workshop will last 60 hours and takes place every Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
Currently, participants are divided into two training groups, which are held in different areas of Totana and the first was held in the Board of Socio Revitalisation of Social Housing C / Argentina and the second group develops in Local Social del Parral.
Both groups have been very successful and now all available spaces are covered, the rest of the stakeholders on the waiting list.
The next planned training activities are the two workshops which started in addition to knowledge of a trade, the participants will rehabilitate the areas of social housing building located at C / Argentina.
