Totana City Council once again joins the European initiative called "The Town Without My Car!"
under the signature of the Letter of Accession to the European initiative, to be held on September 22 with the theme "Move with intelligence and live better!" to take one more step in an initiative to long term, aimed at raising public awareness of the need for a new urban mobility, avoiding the inconvenience caused by the irrational use of the car in the city.
Through this initiative, presented by the Department of Environment and approved by the Local Government Board at its last meeting, it is also intended to involve the departments of Public Safety, Facility Management Services and the City, Civil Protection and Local police and media are essential for the proper conduct of this agreement.
The City Council of Totana, along with the environmental policy being developed, aims through this initiative, including encouraging citizen behavior consistent with sustainable urban development, the protection of air quality, prevention of gas emissions greenhouse and the rational use of energy resources and raise public awareness about the environmental impacts of transport and their different modes of use.
It is intention of the Town Hall to give citizens an opportunity to use alternative transport to the car and offer the public the chance to rediscover the city, its people and its cultural heritage in a healthy and relaxed.
