A 44-year-old neighbor of Totana has died suddenly while driving around 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Juan Carlos I and General Aznar avenues.
Apparently, the man had suffered a heart attack at the wheel of a van and, when he vanished, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a car that was parked at the height of the La Turra roundabout, causing material damage.
According to sources from the Local Police and Civil Protection, the health services of Totana and Lorca have tried to revive him for more than an hour, but he has not been able to save his life.
Since the body was not wounded, death is attributed to natural causes.
At 16:30 the corpse was lifted.
The local police of Totana and the Civil Guard have also been displaced to the place, as well as Civil Protection volunteers who have provided psychological and logistical assistance.
In the same way, municipal authorities, including Mayor Andrés García, have come to the site of the event to accompany family members and learn about the work of emergency services.
The Municipal Corporation wants to convey its respectful condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, belonging to a well-known Totanera family linked to the pottery sector, and to convey a message of solidarity and support in these hard moments of pain and dismay.
