More than a hundred Secondary Education students from different teaching centers and users of Totana disability day centers today formed a human heart in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja in this city to stage their "beats" for the Equality on the occasion of the program of commemorative events for International Women's Day.
The activity "Beatings with equality" has been promoted jointly by the students of Secondary of the centers IES "Juan de la Cierva" and the schools "Reina Sofía" and "La Milagrosa" that have these teachings in this municipality and the Department of Equality of the City council of Totana.
The participants wore commemorative lilac t-shirts and they have also kept a minute of silence for the victims of gender violence in the Region of Murcia and Spain so far this year 2018.
With this activity continues the program of activities that Secondary students have made during these days coinciding with the celebration of Women's Day, among which have highlighted awareness workshops and prevention of equality for adolescents, taught by the CAVI and the technical municipal of Equality.
The event was attended by the mayor, Andrés García, the first deputy mayor, Juan José Cánovas, as well as the councilor Gertrudis Ruiz.
In addition, a total of ten women proposed by the different associations working in this area and the councilors of democracy will be honored this year in the institutional act scheduled to mark the Women's Day, to be held this Friday at the Theater " Ginés Rosa "from the Sociocultural Center" La Cárcel ", starting at 7:00 p.m.
During the months of February and March, CAVI professionals from Bajo Guadalentín and teachers from the Primary and Secondary Education centers, with the collaboration of municipal Equality technicians, have given awareness-raising talks on equal opportunities (Secondary) and Coeducation ( Primary).
