Totana welcomes during the next three Sundays of March the Regional Preliminary Phase of Petanque Triplets in the facilities of the Club "Santa Eulalia" in the senior categories (First and Second), women and youth, in which more than 300 players of the fence will participate of 30 clubs in the Region of Murcia.
The Councilor for Sports, Isabel María Molino, the President of the Petanca Club "Santa Eulalia", Juan Tudela, and his Vice President, Diego Ãngel Méndez, presented this competition to be held on March 11, 18 and 25 in the morning, and counts on the inestimable collaboration of the Petanque Federation of the Region of Murcia.
This competition is qualifying for the Spanish Championship of clubs in these categories, and will bring together the best athletes in this discipline of the regional scope.
The promoters of the club and the councilor encouraged the fans of this sport to attend the existing facilities in front of the Sports Pavilion "Manolo Ibáñez" to watch the matches organized during these weekends.
The winners in the different categories will win the right to participate in the different national events: Second (May 6 in El Toyo Almería-), First (May 6 in El Toyo Almería-), Females (May 27 in Santa Susana) Barcelona-) and Juvenile (May 27 in Santa Susana Barcelona-).
At present, the Petanque Club "Santa Eulalia" has about 300 members.
Club with organizing tradition
The facilities of the Petanque Club "Santa Eulalia" already hosted on February 24 the Regional Final of School Sports Petanque, organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia and the Department of Sports of this town.
In the competition, a total of 11 teams participated in the alevín and open categories, from Alhama, Murcia and Totana.
The totaneros players played an outstanding role in this competition, supported by the work of the teachers of the respective totaneros schools and the collaboration of the local club itself, as recognized by the Sports Councilor.
In the juvenile category, the champion team was the CEIP "Santa Eulalia" of Totana, while the "San Pablo" School of Murcia was second and the "Comarcal Deitania" of Totana, was third classified.
As for the open category, the IES "Miguel Hernández" of Alhama de Murcia was the champion, while the IES "Prado Mayor" of Totana finished in second place, and the "Santa Eulalia" School of Totana third.
