The proceedings began last Friday, February 23, when the Benemérita officers specialized in citizen security prevention were alerted of the situation of a woman, who asked for help from the balcony of a property located in the municipality of Totana.

Quickly, the agents moved to the place of the incident and verified the event, so they identified the residents of the house: a man and a woman who had certain facial injuries who told them that she had been assaulted by her partner sentimental, for which the protocol established for gender violence was activated and the man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of mistreatment in the family.

They were being investigated for drug trafficking

La Benemérita, in the framework of the 'BARTOS' operation, was already investigating this couple for their presumed relationship with drug trafficking.

The Civil Guards had found out that, without paid work, they enjoyed a high standard of living, drove high-end vehicles and occasionally stayed in hotels in the area.

In addition, police surveillance around the home had revealed the assiduity of alleged drug users.

At the time of assistance, while the agents were inside the home waiting for emergency health services, they detected the presence of narcotic substances on the table in the room, all of which was reported to the court of guard, whose owner authorized the entry and registration.

This inspection resulted in the seizure of half a kilo of cocaine, 52 grams of marijuana and 1.38 grams of hashish.

They also seized 2,500 euros in cash, three mobile phones, as well as the necessary tools for the handling and distribution of the drug.

In view of the finding, the Benemérita detained the residents of the building, sentimental partners, as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking.

The arrested, both neighbors of Totana have been put at the disposal of the Court of Instruction number 4 of Totana (Murcia), who has ordered the entry into preventive detention of both.

Operation 'BARTOS' has culminated in the dismantling of a retail drug store in Totana and the arrest of two sentimental partners as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking.

In addition, the Civil Guard attributed to the man the alleged responsibility for the crime of mistreatment in the family.
