The mayor of Totana, Andrés García Cánovas, meets Tuesday, for the first time, with the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, to whom he will transfer the main projects for the remainder of the term, in what will be his institutional presentation .
The first mayor requested an appointment with the president of Murcia last September, and during the meeting will transfer some of the main issues affecting the municipality, such as the economic and financial situation of the Totanero Consistory, as well as the most urgent needs and the solutions they propose for the problems arising from water scarcity.
In addition, will transfer other concerns that involve the general interest of the municipality, such as the final approval of the document of the General Municipal Plan and the need to continue funding lines to maintain the work of excavation and enhancement of the archaeological site of La Bastida.
Likewise, the mayor has detailed to López Miras the projects in which this local administration is currently working and its most immediate challenges for the next two years.
In this regard, he has expressed concern that the budget line amounting to 400,000 euros, approved months ago at the Regional Assembly, aimed at improving the drinking water supply network in this municipality, will be executed as soon as possible.
In addition, he has taken the opportunity to reiterate the invitation to the regional president and members of the regional government to conduct a guided or dramatized visit, when possible, to the archaeological site of La Bastida.
The totanero councilor began, precisely, on July 5 his institutional round, after his inauguration as the new mayor of this municipality on June 24, with the first meeting to the president of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver;
beginning this way the round of visits with responsible of the different institutions of the Region of Murcia.
Subsequently, he has held meetings with different councilors of the regional government.
