The Local Table of Coordination of Gender Violence of Totana met today in order to take stock of the socio-community actions carried out in the second half of 2017 and address future actions of awareness and prevention in this area.

The meeting was attended by the general director of Women and Equality of Opportunities, Alicia Barquero, the mayor of Totana, Andrés García, and the councilor of the branch, Eulalia Moreno, as well as technicians from the Specialized Care Center for Women Victims of the Gender Violence (CAVI), municipal technicians and other administrations involved and representatives of the Security Forces and Corps.

In addition, during the meeting of the Commission on Gender Violence, which was held in the municipal plenary hall, an evaluation and analysis of the coordination between the different services that make up the Local Coordination Table, and contributions of strategies have been made. of improvement in this field in Totana.

In the act, the general director recalled that the local coordination boards are an instrument that sets the criteria to unify the procedures of attention to women victims of violence and coordinate actions of the different professionals involved in all municipalities.

Nowadays.

there are 30 tables and it is one of the initiatives that the Autonomous Community has incorporated into the State Pact Against Gender Violence.

According to Barquero, "the local coordination tables are very useful, due to the particularity of local resources and the number of agents involved in the fight against this scourge".

The Specialized Care Centers for Women Victims of Violence are services created in collaboration with the City Councils of the Region, in which individual and group treatment is offered to women victims of abuse, providing the necessary support to enhance their social and psychological competences , and to face successfully the experiences lived.

The attention is made in an integral way from different professional approaches: legal, social and psychological.
