The 1st Dog Show of Dogs Detectors is held this Sunday, December 3, from 11:00 am, at the "Marcos Ortiz" Auditorium, organized by the Canine Unit of the Civil Protection Volunteer Association of Totana.
The Councilman of Celebrations and Emergencies, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez, and the person in charge of the Canine Unit of Civil Protection, Antonio Serrano, have presented this activity included in the program of activities of the patron saint festivities of Santa Eulalia, which has the collaboration of the Consistory totanero
For two years, Civil Protection in Totana has a Canine Unit operational in the search for missing persons, and currently has four more dogs in initiation in that discipline.
The exhibition will begin at 11:00 hours with the presentation of all the units that will participate.
They are going to give appointment operative dogs in the detection of narcotics, explosives and in the search for missing persons.
The work of stopping narcotics will be carried out by agents of the Local Police of Lorca, Librilla and Jumilla, in collaboration with the association "Dog United";
while those of explosives will be carried out by the specialized company "Arikel", and those of search for missing persons will be made by "UCAS RM" and "Dog United", respectively.
In addition, in the discipline of search for missing persons, two guides of the BIEM III of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) of Valencia have confirmed that they will visit Totana with four dogs (two operatives and two initiation dogs).
As they explained, there will also be a demonstration of obedience by the canine schools Canine Association of Totana (ASCATO) and "Murcia Dog".
The promoter of this activity explained that the objective of this activity is to bring the public closer to the work that these units perform, and to account for the time and work involved in promoting a specialized operational unit in any of these disciplines.
