The Municipal Government of the City of Totana has been working for months on the impulse for the construction of a Solar Power Plant in the vicinity of the industrial estate "El Saladar" of this town, which will allow the initial recruitment of more than 125 workers, whose The project is promoted by the company "Soltec Solar Followers".
The Molinense company "Soltec", leader in the manufacture of solar trackers, plans to install a photovoltaic power plant of 91 megawatts of power in 2018, with an underground high voltage line, capable of supplying more of 30,000 homes.
It would be one of the largest in Spain, and the project has already complied with all administrative procedures and has obtained a favorable report from the National Commission of Markets and Competition.
In addition, it will cover an area equivalent to 145 football fields and will have 267,652 panels that will move in a synchronized manner following the course of the Sun. In this way, the plant will generate 20% more electricity than a fixed panel installation.
In recent weeks the mayor, Andrés García, and the first deputy mayor and councilor for Economic Development, Juan José Cánovas, have held meetings to finalize the arrival of the company to the Totana industrial park.
In fact, more technical meetings have also been held at the Local Development Center of Totana, where municipal workers and policy makers in the areas of Employment, Urban Planning, Environment, Training and Employment have taken steps to streamline administrative procedures and specify details.
In these meetings have also been present the councilors of Urbanism and Environment, Carlos Ballester and Antonia Camacho, as well as responsible for the municipal centers for disabled and the SEF in Totana to coordinate joint actions.
As explained by the first deputy mayor, the company "Soltec" has committed to the City Council, after arduous negotiations carried out since the beginning of this term, specific commitments such as support for activities of the Disabled Centers of Totana, and the training and recycling of workers for the selection of personnel in the Clean Energy specialty.
Similarly, Juan José Cánovas has stressed that the priority of society is training in this area;
