Fifty people visited the city of Orihuela on Sunday, October 8 to participate in a so-called "Hernandiana Route" in order to deepen the figure and work of the poet Miguel Hernández coinciding with the 75th anniversary of his death.
The activity was held within the "Totana Cultural" program, and was organized by the Cultural Association "El Cańico" and the Department of Culture of the City of Totana.
Participants in this initiative were accompanied by a guide from the Tourist Office of Alicante, and during the visit they followed the poet's steps through the streets of the city.
Thus, they visited, among other places, the Rincon Hernandiano, the Santo Domingo College, the Cathedral, the Anti-aircraft Shelter of the Civil War, etc., and other spaces where verses by the poet Miguel Hernández were also recited.
The tour focused mainly on remembering the life of the writer, his childhood and adolescence, his schooling, his relations with different religious and literary figures of the municipality and the evolution of his creative activity.
In addition, during this tour was also revealed, part of the historical and cultural heritage of the town.
In addition to this route, in the afternoon, visited the murals of the neighborhood of San Isidro, where more than one hundred painters have shaped since 1976 their works on some 170 facades;
and in which art and poetry cover the walls of this neighborhood paying homage to the figure of the poet oriolano.
