The Councilor for Citizen Security in the City of Totana, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez, explained to the media the agreements of the Police Coordination Bureau to combat possible cases of gender violence in this municipality.

It has met today to coordinate actions and prevent possible cases, after the events that occurred this week in the Region of Murcia.

The meeting was attended by the Mayor, Andrés García Cánovas, the mayor of Public Safety and Police and officials of the Local Police of Totana.

In addition, it has reported that this body is complementary to the so-called System of Integral Monitoring of cases of Gender-based Violence promoted by the Ministry of the Interior, which was approved in full last June, and to which the Consistory totanero .

During the more than ten years since the entry into force of Act 1/2004 on Comprehensive Protection Measures against Gender Violence (LOMPIVG), there has been intense normative development work to address gender violence in all levels of government, including local government.

Institutional coordination is a key factor in achieving the objectives of the Act and achieving greater protection for women victims of abuse.

Coordination is one of the most effective means of eradicating these antisocial behaviors insofar as it serves to reinforce prevention, increase awareness and social awareness, allow denunciation, comprehensive and personalized care of the victim, as well as the control of the abuser.

This commitment to work together to improve the systems to combat gender violence and to reach a State Pact in this area that is initialed in both Chambers of the Cortes Generales.

Likewise, the mayor of Local Police has also reported on the latest negotiations carried out by the municipal government with trade union organizations to restore workers' compensation rights, at which meeting was also attended by Councilor for Human Resources, Gertrudis Ruiz .
