The PP once again requests another Plenary to hold an act of homage to the Spanish flag on 12 October from the city hall

After the refusal by the Government Team of the PSOE and IU-GANAR TOTANA Pact in previous years to celebrate an act of homage to the Spanish flag on October 12, the Popular Party again requests the full City Council to be held said act, as it was done until 2015.

During the years 2015 and 2016 PSOE and IU-GANAR TOTANA, they voted against on different occasions to the proposal by the Popular Party that on that date an act of homage to our flag of Spain was celebrated.

This year and as in previous years the Popular Municipal Group will propose during the celebration of this month's plenary, due to the proximity to the day of Hispanidad, that from the City Hall an act of homage to the Flag of Spain will be celebrated.

The Popular Group, as it has already said on numerous occasions before the plenary of the City Council, considers that in these days of sovereignty challenges, it is necessary to defend the unity of Spain, the constitutional framework, the rule of law and of course our flag because those are the principles that underpin our democracy.

With this motion we intend to re-celebrate an act that has been taking place for years, until 2015 in which the Government Team decided not to celebrate it while withdrawing the Flag of Spain from the mast next to the Temple of Santa Eulalia, although for about two months the flag hondea again in the mast of the Place.

There are many neighbors that we represent, and both these and us, we are proud to be totaneros, Murcia and above all we are proud to be Spanish.

We should not be ashamed of anything or feel complexed as being Spanish.

It is not a question of flags but of what it symbolizes and represents for the democrats and lovers of the Spanish Constitution of 1978.

The Municipal People's Group in the last two years, and after the refusal of the municipal government to celebrate the act of the flag and tribute to the fallen, wanted to keep alive, very simply, this solemn act for what it means and for what entails, so prior to the celebration of the Pillar Mass in which we accompany the State Security Forces, we carry out a small tribute to our flag and so many people who have left their lives for the defense of Spain.

We want this event to be celebrated without fuss or complex because it is a request of society, because it is celebrated in many towns and cities in Spain and because there are many people who protect and defend the freedoms and rights that supports this symbol, the National insignia.

Our flag symbolizes the constitutional Spain, open, tolerant and supportive of which we can all feel proud to be a part and that has cost us so much to get here, thanks to the work and effort of several generations of Spaniards.

It is clear that in a civilized society, democratic, tolerant and plural adding we all win.

But there are those who insist on not respecting the thoughts of others, who strive to eliminate acts that were being celebrated and which were grateful for the work and service work provided by the State Security Corps and Forces and to commemorate our fallen.

These are the reasons why from the popular group we take again to the full City Hall, with the sole objective of paying homage to the flag of all the Spaniards for what it symbolizes.
