The new permanent extension of the University of Murcia (UMU) starts its activity in the municipality of Totana with a talk by Professor María Martínez, director of the delegation in this municipality, and the exhibition "Centum" on the one hundred years of this teaching institution.
The inaugural talk will be held next Thursday, September 14, at 8:00 pm, in the "Gregorio Cebrián" exhibition hall, and will be entitled "University of Murcia: past and present".
For its part, the exhibition will remain open until next September 26 in this same cultural infrastructure.
The Councilor for Culture, Eulalia Moreno, and the professor and professor of Medieval History of the UMU, while director of the extension headquarters of Totana, Maria Martinez, presented these activities with which officially begin the program of events of the headquarters of university extension of Totana.
Totana became since last May in a new permanent extension of the UMU, in which training activities and cultural and sports activities for people of all ages will be developed, with relative frequency, and promoted by this teaching institution in this municipality.
The teacher in charge of directing this new headquarters is the professor of Medieval History, the totanera Martinez Martinez Martinez, who announced that it is already working the hand of the Department of Culture in the making of other activities, such as concerts of the University Choir and round tables and debate on the field of education. The University's extension aims to bring knowledge to any sector of the population, from childhood to adults, encouraging continuous learning, boosting artistic creativity or promoting sports activities, with the in order to bet on a critical and solidary spirit, for healthy habits and respect for cultural, social and environmental diversity.
Also, among its functions are the promotion of culture and awareness of citizens in their practice and enjoyment, the development of knowledge of the culture and society of the environment through the promotion of sociological, anthropological or artistic studies, among others .
