The "Project Abraham" Association maintains in the urban center of Totana the provision of the service of collection in the public highway, by means of containers, of used clothes, footwear and toys.
The Asociación Proyecto Abraham is authorized for the management of non-hazardous waste in Murcia by Resolution of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Land Management of the Autonomous Community of Murcia since 2007 and is part of the Spanish Association of Recuperators of Social and Solidarity Economy ( AERESS).
The selective collection of textile waste, footwear and toys are intended to contribute to the development and improvement of measures in favor of preservation of the environment.
These are transformed into a resource to receive housing, training, employment, development assistance, support and support to groups at risk or social exclusion.
The collection system is based on the placement of metal containers at street level, ecoparques and large areas.
It is also supported by the implementation of a door-to-door collection system where other types of containers will be placed in neighborhood communities, shopping malls or other institutions interested in adhering to the door-to-door collection protocol.
In addition, it promotes the temporary collection of waste in educational centers preceded by an awareness campaign on the recycling of this waste and the social work of the "Project Abraham" Association.
