The creation of a Mediation, Arbitration and Conciliation Service is requested, as well as a Social Court that provides service to the Guadalentín Region

The City of Totana will transfer to the regional government the need and convenience of launching a labor conciliation service in Lorca called the Mediation, Arbitration and Conciliation Service (SMAC), as well as the creation of a Social Court in the Future Palace of the Justice of this locality that gives service to the Region of Guadalentín.

This will be done in compliance with a plenary agreement last June, after verifying that the Central Government has not duly attended to the aspirations expressed by both legal professionals and other political and social groups in this region, To accelerate, after budgetary appropriation, the launching in Lorca of the new Palace of Justice.

For the Consistory totanero, the whole of the Guadalentín region is orphaned by a court to deal with disputes that affect workers against their companies and vice versa, as well as other public bodies such as Public Employment Service, National Social Security, Mutual TA and EP, General Treasury of Social Security, etcetera.

Considering that this region includes the municipalities of Totana, Aledo, Puerto Lumbreras, Lorca and Aguilas, with a population of over 175,000 inhabitants, there is a comparative grievance against other regions of the Autonomous Community such as Murcia and Cartagena , Which do have this service.

This situation not only affects workers and companies, but also is detrimental to professionals working with these groups, such as consultancies and labor agencies, social graduates and lawyers, who have to travel to the city of Murcia for the Judgments in the workplace.

This situation is also extended to the absence of a Mediation, Arbitration and Conciliation Service in the social field, prior to the judicial process.

Again, unlike Murcia and Cartagena, where it is provided, the workers of the Guadalentín region, law professionals and the companies themselves have to move to the capital to be able to hold their extrajudicial conciliations.

It should also be remembered that this mediation service was provided for a time in the city of Lorca, using for this purpose dependencies assigned by the city council of this city.

This service was provided on a weekly basis, pointing out one day a week for its completion and concentrating on that day the conciliation papers that had been registered.
