What exactly are the Official Language Schools (EOIs)?

They are public centers dedicated to teaching and learning languages.

The official language schools form a network of more than 300 public centers throughout Spain and have specialized teachers and curricula and specific curricula regulated by the Ministry of Education and regional education administrations.

In our area we have the Official Language School of Lorca and its Extensions of Eagles, Alhama, Puerto Lumbreras and Totana .

In Lorca the study of English, French and Italian is offered and in its extensions only the English language.

What are the advantages of studying at the EOI?

There are several reasons to study at the EOI:

The teachers are highly qualified for having had to go through difficult opposition.

They use an eclectic methodology that seeks to make the class as dynamic and communicative as possible so that learning is effective.

The EOI allows you to certify your knowledge with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1) so you can improve your curriculum, thus opening many doors at work.

At school you will meet people with your interests, in this case learning languages, which will allow you to expand your social circle and the possibility of doing activities related to languages (study trips, language exchange with natives, etc.) .

As the public school you can receive quality training for an annual fee of less than € 100

If you learn a foreign language you can enjoy communicating with people from different countries and cultures in your area and when you travel.

What kind of students do you usually meet in the classroom?

Many high school students who are taking the Baccalaureate or teachers who need the B2 title in English to teach in bilingual colleges or institutes.

Sometimes there are professionals from many fields (architects, nurses, engineers, etc.) who need English in their jobs to improve the quality of service among their English speaking clients.

There are also unemployed people looking for training in the language to be able to swell their curriculum vitae and thus find a job.

In addition, the number of retirees among our students has increased in recent years.

I would encourage everyone to sign up since learning languages brings many benefits.

Do you do activities with natives to practice the language?

Yes, we actually do a lot of extracurricular activities;

This year an English speaker and writer, Jane Cronin, has come to speak about the most difficult aspects of the English language to learn, there have also been expert talks in French and Italian and we have done cultural and linguistic exchange trips on a sailboat by the sea Minor with English.

We also made a study trip to Cambridge.

What training levels are offered at the Totana Extension?

Totana teaches Basic Level (A1 and A2), Intermediate Level (B1) and Advanced Level (B2).

Each level consists of 2 academic courses.

What level should I apply to enroll?

If you are not a beginner and you are not sure of the level to which you must pre-register contact us so that we can guide you about it and give you access to a level test (Tel 968421919 - Totana - or 968441155 -Lorca)

What are the class hours?

The student receives classes 4 hours a week on alternate days Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday, two hours each day.

You can choose times from 16 to 18 or from 19 to 21 hours.

It is possible that some group of tomorrow will leave in Totana.

In the last 4 years we have had groups of tomorrow.

If you have interest, contact us at eoitotana@hotmail.com or 968421919, and we will inform you about it.

Where are the classes taught?

We have two centers where classes are taught, some of them are JUAN DE LA CIERVA (The new institute) and another center in THE LOCAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER located in the area of the Industrial Estate.

How can I be a student for the 2017-2018 course?

Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to talk about our school in this environment.

And do not miss the opportunity to study languages, it's really worth it.

Apart from opening the workplace, it is very satisfying to be able to defend yourself in the language when traveling.

They also say that it is good for preventing diseases of the mind.

What more could you want!
