A Cuban delegation, made up of 14 professionals from various sectors of the primary and secondary economic sectors of this Central American society, visited Totana, guided by the "Integral Earth Foundation" of the Region of Murcia, in order to diversify its economy in the area Rural and the search for alternative income.
The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Andrés García, and the Councilor for Economic Development, Antonia Camacho, have made an institutional reception to the manager of this foundation, Cayetano García Rosa, as well as the members of this Delegation, all of them of the province of Matanzas except one that is of Santi Scpiritu.
The Cuban professionals who have visited the totanero municipality are a very diverse and homogeneous group of peasants, university professors, cultural managers, artists, agricultural researchers and representatives of a public agrarian organization under the Cuban government.
During these 12 days the guests will know the "Leader" methodology and projects financed by this entity to promote the diversification of both agrarian and non-agricultural activity.
In the case of the municipality of Totana, they will visit economic resources of cultural, artisan and religious tourism, such as the archaeological site "La Bastida", potteries and the place of La Santa.
In addition, other incursions into agro-tourism projects and agricultural transformation processes in the Region of Murcia in order to deepen programs and methodologies of economic diversification in rural areas.
The "Tierra Integral Foundation" aims to promote, promote, protect and cooperate in the development of all kinds of intellectual, scientific and cultural activities related to the rural development of the Region of Murcia and complementary activities, and protection of the Nature and the rural environment, as well as research activities and all kinds of studies related to the sectors mentioned.
