The Department of Culture has organized, through the Municipal Library "Mateo Garcia", an extensive program of activities throughout the month of April with the purpose of commemorating the Book Day, which is celebrated on 23 April, and between The ones that emphasize Storytelling, workshops of animation to the reading, talks-colloquy and presentation of books.
The council of the branch, Eulalia Moreno, accompanied by the representative of the Caja de Semillas Association, Juan Ruiz, who actively participated in the promotion of various activities, have presented the list of cultural events to be held from April 3 to May 5 , both included.
The program begins with the "Solidarity Donation" campaign organized by the Municipal Library "Mateo García, with which users who provide non-perishable food can take a duplicate background book of this service.
The initiative, which took place last year with great success, will be held from 3 to 28 April, from Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In addition, on April 10, at 11:00 hours, will be the Easter Storyteller to be given by María del Carmen Zamora Marín, with a maximum of 20 children, between 6 and 9 years.
Registration is free and can be done from April 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
On April 17, at 17:30 hours, will be held the Workshop on Reading Animation "Doctor Cuentitis", special edition Gloria Fuertes, in the municipal library, with a maximum of 25 children, between 6 and 9 years .
Registration is free and can be done from April 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In addition, this same day, at 19:00 hours, will be the awards ceremony of the Third Story Contest "Morerica Galán", in the Municipal Library "Mateo Garcia."
The program includes on April 20 the presentation of the book "Fishermen of dreams", by Victor Manuel Muñoz Calero, at the IES "Prado Mayor".
That same day, at 20:00 hours, the talk-colloquium "Political repression and prisons of Totana, a neighborhood in condemnation (1939-1943), in which Floren will speak, will take place at the theater of the socio-cultural center" La Cárcel " Dimas and Alfonso Cayuela Martínez, both researchers of the historical memory in the Region of Murcia.
From 21 to 28 April will be held the "Books that heal, heal" campaign, depositing different batches of books in health centers, cafeterias, exhibition hall, and so on;
So that once they have been read, they will be returned to the municipal library.
On April 24 will be the VII edition of the "Book Traveler" in which will be distributed books accompanied by an informative diptych in an airtight bag throughout the day in different parts of the urban center of Totana.
That afternoon, at 20:30 hours, the exhibition hall "Gregorio Cebrián" will host a recital of poetry.
On April 26 the municipal library will be out in the street, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in the weekly market, food will be collected in exchange for books for Caritas.
The next day, on April 27, will be the activity of the "Reading Club", in an encounter with the author María Jesús Juan, and the book "To touch the sky", from 20:00 hours, in the Public library "Mateo García".

In addition, the Cultural Association "Caja de Semillas" has promoted the organization of several book presentations: the novel "Ae Renasci", by Pedro García Jiménez, finalist Murciano Book Award 2016 (April 26), the work "Personal effects" By Lola Gutiérrez Sánchez, Murciano Book Award 2015 (April 28) and the novel "Patio Chair", by Antonio Parra Sanz, Book Murciano Award 2016 (May 5).
All presentations will be in the exhibition hall "Gregorio Cebrián", from 20:30 hours, organized by the Association "Box of Seeds".
