The Public State Employment Service (SEPE) has awarded the City of Totana a total of three projects under the "District Councils" that will allow the hiring of a total of 114 workers between October and March 2017, according informs the council Works and Services, Victor Balsas.
The projects relate to the conservation of forest areas in the hamlet of La Santa, where the cost of labor of ten workers amounting to 33,055.02 euros is financed.
It will also establish a cleaning of rural roads that allow the conditioning of some 30 rural roads, as well as the implementation of a permanent service during the six month duration of this program for the settlement and patching of rural roads, which allow to hire 86 workers for a value of 291,276.12 euros.
In addition, it will develop another improvement initiative in parks and gardens of Totana, whereby 18 workers will be employed, with a total budget of 63,741.50 euros.
In total, between the municipalities of Lorca, Alhama, Totana, Librilla and Puerto Lumbreras, in the Shire of Guadalentín, they are to hire a total of 232 people, of which nearly half are from Totana.
The "District Councils" project is a program to promote rural employment through subsidies to the local governments for hiring workers for the execution of projects of general and social interest.
Totana is one of the municipalities in the region of Murcia who will benefit from a resolution to encourage the recruitment of unemployed agricultural workers.
To this end, the totanero Consitorio receive a total of 388,072 euros, which aims to create jobs in periods of low agricultural activity, said the mayor.
