On the night of Tuesday 19 was held at a popular local restaurant the usual annual dinner meeting on the occasion of the celebration of the name day of the patron saint of craftsmen, Santa Justa and Santa Rufina.
The event which brought together fifty artisans, family, municipal authorities and representatives of business groups participated the Mayor of Totana, Juan José Canovas, the first deputy mayor, Andres Garcia, and Councilwoman Crafts, Antonia Camacho.
Also they are attending the ceremony the President of the Traders Association Totana, Francisco Andreo, the Union of Farmers (COAG) Isidoro Cayuela and the President and other officers and employees of CEBAG.
Usually this annual meeting is used to pay tribute to one of the artisans.
This year the honor fell to the President of the Association of Artisans of Totana (ASART), which was presented with a painting-portrait with her image, made by the artist and artisan totanera Eulalia Gonzalez.
The gift was handed by Vice ASART, Juan Maria Martinez and the director and dean of the totaneros craftsmen, Bartholomew Bellon, the latter being responsible, on behalf of artisans, to say a few kind words to the honoree, remembering and thanking them for their dedication to the Association.
Totana Mayor also highlighted the dedication of Rosa Maria Saiz for nearly two decades, the defense of the interests of crafts and artisans of Totana and All Murcia.
Recognition which also had an impact Councilwoman Crafts.
Also the President of CEBAG, Jose Luis Hernandez, wanted to express to the honoree on behalf of entrepreneurs in Totana and Lower Guadalentín their cooperation and dedication to the business movement and business organizations, the Association itself artisans and formal recognition of some products and traditional foods of the area and the region (paprika, honey, oil, almonds and mantellina, among others), as products with the seal and official recognition craft Murcia.
CEBAG representatives gave to Rosa Maria Saiz a plate decorated in the local pottery, in which some of these foodstuffs artisans contained in ceramic containers manufactured from pottery workshops of Totana.
Finally the honoree, visibly moved, thanked everyone for their presence and recognition and gifts received.
